9.25 (very good) I wanted to check this anime out initially because of the art style, and when I saw that it's just a short series, I decided to give it a chance. But I was definitely caught off-guard and did not expect the series to be the way it is.

All I can say is... The director did a very VERY good job. Seriously. IMO, the suspense factor was consistently delivered all throughout. It really did gave me the creeps in the first couple of episodes, but still I got hooked because the scenes were so well-made. The only thing that was kinda off for me was when they started getting out of their minds and had gone berserk, lol. Still, it had a satisfying but sad ending. It's like, Final Destination: The Anime, just with more meaning... and hope.

Although I recommend that you skip the special episode and start this series in episode 1. You can save the special episode for last, if you want the series to have more impact. :)

7.50 (good) Uhh I don't even know how to rate this. Subaru, Shuu, Ruki and Ayato and that dummy head mic practically ruined a month of my life.

My rating was just a random figure. The anime, well, I liked the animation and the designs. It's well-animated despite the many details especially the hair. If I were gonna rate this based on visuals, it's 9.

I'll say this though: The game shouldn't have been adapted to just 12 episodes. The anime didn't cover everything from the first game (DL: Haunted Dark Bridal), not to mention the second game (DL: More Blood) which was released after the anime had aired. It didn't expand on Yui's dad's (Seiji) involvement with the Sakamaki's even though that bit was basically the only focus of Yui during the first half of the series. (e__e) It didn't completely expand on why the brothers were like that, aka stuff about their childhood. Shuu and Reiji's backstory was incomplete---Edgar's name didn't have to be mentioned if his story wasn't gonna be shown anyway. Laito's and Kanato's past were, uhh, really not appropriate to be shown, but at least theirs could have been mentioned clearly or something. And lastly, about the thing with Cordelia and Richter. It was obvious that Cordelia was the main antagonist in the first game, but the anime gave off the feeling that Richter was the mastermind, and not her. And about Karl Heinz, well, a second season should be made based on the second game to explain what he had been really up to since the beginning. Although the second game didn't seem to have a closure (it had a weird plot, thanks Karl) and so came a third one! DL: Dark Fate---I don't know much about it, except that there's gonna be more vamps, obviously. Ganbatte, Yui-chan...

Welp with this, I'm done with otome.

//Edited. Oops no second season. It was just a re-run.//

10.00 (excellent) My TOP 2 anime series.

I saw the first FMA anime back in 2006 on Animax. Just finished FMA: Brotherhood recently, and now I prefer it over the first one, haha, mostly because of the story. Loved the art direction for the first FMA, though I loved the sketchy backgrounds and the animation (especially the fight scenes!!!) AAAND the happy ending in Brotherhood. I just loved how Arakawa-san closed the story.

Favorite character........... well, I LOVED Ling Yao! Maybe a bit of Greedlin, BUT mostly Ling himself. Lan Fan caught my attention as well. Haha you could say that I loved the Ling x Lan Fan x Fu-jiisan team; they were awesome! =w= Major Miles became one of my favorite *new* characters as well. While watching Brotherhood, I got to appreciate some characters who I didn't pay close attention to during the first series. Hohenheim, Scar, Barry the Chopper, King Bradley, Kimblee, 2nd Lieutenant Heymans Breda, the promoted 2nd Lieutenant Vato Falman!! and Gluttony to name a few. Haha. Of course, my main favs from the first FMA remained. Black Hayate, Hughes (</3), Roy, Edward, human!Alphonse, Riza, Havoc and Fuery. Envy might still have been included in the list, but I didn't really like his character very much in Brotherhood... err I felt that he was a lot cooler in the first FMA. And I would just like to mention that I liked the roles of Heinkel, Darius, Zampano and Jerso, a.k.a. the Human Chimeras.

9.50 (excellent) The only new anime title I watched before 2013 ended. The way the story dealt with heart issues was really good. I defintely have learned valuable stuff from this series. My favorite is probably the Michi Random arc; it was intense, haha. I especially liked the ending song and video for the Kako Random arc. Although, this may be the first anime I watched in which I don't have a specific favorite character. Well maybe Inaban's older brother who had a cameo in a couple of episodes I think, lol and oh yes speaking of Himeko, chibi!Inaban was OH SO cute!!!

Anime sites should change their plot summary for Kokoro Connect. I initially thought that this anime is just going to be all about 5 friends who have switched bodies with each other, lol.

The Law of Ueki

9.75 (excellent) My TOP 1 anime series!

From the anime titles I've seen and heard so far, there isn't another protagonist who's like Ueki Kosuke --- somebody who seems like he doesn't give a mopping over Justice and cleaning and mostly, friends, with his bland face and all. Aside from my initial impression of the whole changing-of-trash-into-trees concept I saw in its first TV commercial on Animax back in '06 (I need it complete), it's what makes this series highly appealing to my taste. Having seen this anime made me like the color green more and more (with Ueki's haircolor + the trees and all) till blue wasn't my favorite color anymore! That impact. That creatively colorful, straightforward innocence about justice and friendship and a bit of family; it was so out-of-the-box, driven by fun humor. And no romance at all! Except for Rinko's little crush. (Not that I prefer stories without it.) Which isn't really a surprise. I'm glad I got to even think about trying The Law of Ueki after seeing FMA's awesomeness.

My favorite character is Sano Seiichiro, btw. He's just so cool in his eccentric outfit, especially with his Level 2 power!!! lol. Plus, a smart guy. And that scar on his face marks it all.
Kosuke is already given, haha. I love his character. To. Bits.

Can't say that the art is above excellent because of the usual inconsistency in the production, but it was good most of the time, esp the backgrounds. The animation quality was well-balanced with the theme, in my opinion. Soundtrack was cool for me, although the usual feedback I've read about LoU's OP and ED themes was that the only one most viewers liked was the first ending. I liked them all esp both opening themes and the 1st, 3rd and 5th ending themes. Of course that super catchy battle theme as well, and apparently, it's called "Rinko Jerard no Theme" (Rinko's Theme). Idk why it's used as one of the usual BGMs during battles. It's the only thing in the whole LoU that confuses me. Haha.

Gonna be re-watching this for the 3rd time some time soon I think.
